Plus1 Scholarship

Get the chance to win 10,000 SEK!

For many students, everyday life is particularly tough. They have to study, work extra hours and still find time for a social life on the side. In the midst of all this, they have to make ends meet – often on a very tight budget.

According to estimates, students receiving full student finance risk losing out on 3,000 kronor per month. That is precisely why we at Plus1 want to help where we know it can make a big difference: in students’ everyday lives. That is why, every year, we award a grant of 10,000 kronor to the student we believe has submitted the best essay or tip for managing a student budget.

We believe that everything can always be improved – even student finances. With this scholarship, we want to work with you, the students, to find smarter ways to budget, avoid financial pitfalls and boost your bank balance – even whilst you’re still studying.

Plus1 wants to reward students who dare to take their heads out of the sand and tackle financial issues early in life, whether it’s their own finances or those of society. We believe that many students have smarter tips than simply ‘living on noodles’ to make ends meet. We want to share those tips with more people.

Who can apply? Full-time students in post-secondary education who are registered as residents in Sweden, regardless of their field of study.

What does the student need to do? Submit a text/report/essay that either:

1. identifies an area where people avoid financial issues (ostrich economics), or
2. describes how financial stress affects students’ health, or
3. shares their best money-saving tip for living on a student budget.

The format and length are entirely up to you.

How do students apply? Send your application by email, including your name, school, course and your essay.
