Summer jobs in social psychiatry

At UngBo HVB and social psychiatry housing support

About the workplace
We are currently looking for a number of positive and trustworthy summer temps to work in our residential care homes and social psychiatry housing support services. Our summer work periods run from weeks 26 to 33, and there may be an opportunity to start on an hourly basis as early as this spring.

Would you like to improve the daily lives of both young people and those with mental health issues? Are you a supportive person who can also set boundaries? Do you enjoy working independently? If so, you could be one of the temporary staff we’re looking for!

Job description: Ungbo
Ungbo HVB is a residential facility in central Mariestad for boys and girls aged 13–20. We cater for young people whose home environment, social issues or conflicts make it impossible for them to function at home. Our unit has four places plus a support flat. We aim to help bring about changed, improved and lasting living conditions for the young person, and we want to create the conditions for the young person and their family to find new ways of interacting.

Together with the client, the young person and their guardians, we design an individual treatment plan at the residential care home. The treatment focuses on providing our young people with a secure foundation, where your duties involve creating a clear daily routine and fostering secure relationships with stable adults.

Mobile housing support, social psychiatry
In the housing support role, you will help make everyday life easier for people with mental health issues in their own homes. Your duties will involve assessment, support and motivation to strengthen the individual’s own resources for an independent life and active participation in society. Together with the individual, you will plan and structure their daily life, leisure time and activities. Your role will be to help the individual become more independent in carrying out their daily tasks. You will also act as a social support in dealings with various authorities and relatives.

Both roles involve irregular working hours. We work during the day, in the evening, at weekends, at night and on on-call duty.

Qualifications
To be suitable for a summer temp role, we are looking for someone with relevant qualifications, such as a social pedagogue, treatment pedagogue or another qualification in behavioural sciences. We would like you to have previous experience of working with children and young people or other individuals who require special support. Experience of working in a low-affect manner within social work is an advantage.

We are looking for someone who can work independently whilst also being able to collaborate easily with colleagues, care staff, nurses and others. You should be confident in yourself as a person and have a calm and stable approach. It is important that you are empathetic and able to meet the individual where they are and understand the difficulties they may face. You must be able to make independent decisions and resolve various situations based on each individual’s circumstances and needs.

You are expected to have a good command of the Swedish language, both spoken and written, as documentation is part of the role.

We will prioritise temporary staff who can be flexible and work at both Ungbo and in housing support, and who enjoy working with both older and younger groups. We will also prioritise those who can work irregular hours, as we provide services during the day, in the evening, at weekends, at night and on on-call duty.

A driving licence is required.

We process applications on an ongoing basis, which means that interviews may take place before the closing date. When you apply, please provide a CV detailing your previous experience. You do not need to include a personal statement; instead, you will be asked to answer a few screening questions. We place great emphasis on personal qualities. During the recruitment process, we will check references, and before making an offer for a summer job, we will require a copy of your criminal record.

We look forward to receiving your application!
